Israel's ceasefire with Lebanon extended. Donald Trump's message

“The US will work with Lebanon to help it defend itself against Hezbollah. The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended for three weeks,” wrote Donald Trump on Truth Social.

He added that he hopes to host Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in the near future.

Temporary ceasefire

On April 16, the US announced a 10-day truce in the war in Lebanon, where Israel has been fighting Iran-backed Hezbollah, a group outside the control of the government in Beirut, since early March.

Representatives of the United States informed that their goal was to achieve lasting peace between countries. Israel seeks primarily to disarm Hezbollah.
