Walter Zenga, the legend of Inter, discussed the future of the goalkeeper position in Cristi Chivu's team.
Yann Sommer has little chance of continuing at Inter from the summer, being at the end of his contract. Thus, the future Serie A champion will look for another goalkeeper for the next season.
Walter Zenga proposed two Italian goalkeepers for Inter
Walter Zenga, former great goalkeeper at Inter, wants an Italian goalkeeper for Chivu's team and proposed two names: Marco Carnesecchi, from Atalanta, and Guglielmo Vicario, from Tottenham.
“I'd like an Italian goalkeeper after Sommer. I'll give you two names: Carnesecchi – who already plays for a big club like Atalanta – and Vicario, who is currently fighting to save relegation from the Premier League with Tottenham”said Zenga, the former FCSB coach, to Sky Sports, quoted by fcinter1908.it.
Walter Zenga has commented on speculation in Italy regarding a tactical change at Inter and offered his own view on the team's future.
“If Inter were to change the system, how many players would they have to replace? Do you put Dimarco in the line of four defenders, as a full-back? Who would become the two central midfielders? It is not that simple to change a group that, in my opinion, already needs 4 or 5 changes, that is, the players at the end of the contract,” said Zenga.
Inter, eyeing the event in Italy
The end of the season finds Inter in the fight for the event, the title – the Italian Cup. In the championship, Cristi Chivu's team is the leader, with 12 points ahead of Napoli, with 5 stages left to play. Practically, with 4 points obtained, Inter is mathematically champion, without counting the results of the opponents.
Inter also reached the final of the Italian Cup, after 3-2 with Como in the semi-final. Led by 0-2, Cristi Chivu's students came back in the second half. In the last act, Inter will play Lazio.
