Andrew Robertson he went ahead with the plan set out several months ago and signed with Tottenham Hotspur, though Juventus tried at the last minute to hijack his transfer.

According to information appearing in Italy and England, Juventus made a final move for the transfer of the left defender. However, even sources close to the negotiations claimed that the move was very difficult to achieve as Robertson had already agreed to Tottenham.

The transfer became even more likely after the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi on the London bench and the dramatic rescue from relegation achieved by Spurs in the last stage of the Premier League.

Andy Robertson has signed for Tottenham

The 32-year-old Scottish defender became free of contract after parting ways with Liverpool. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Robertson has decided to honor the principle agreement he had with Tottenham six months ago.

Robertson bid farewell to Liverpool fans at his final game at Anfield in an emotional moment. The Scot arrived at Anfield in 2017 from Hull City and has become one of the most important players of Jurgen Klopp's generation.

In his nine years at Liverpool, the defender amassed 373 appearances and won two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the European Super Cup, the FA Super Cup and the Club World Championship.

In the current season, Robertson has been more of a reserve at Liverpool. His place in the first “11” was taken by the Hungarian Milos Kerkez, a defender transferred last summer from Bournemouth for around 47 million euros.

However, Andrew Robertson has ticked off 36 games this season, 3 goals and 2 assists.
