PSD proposes Sorin Grindeanu for the position of prime minister, announces Claudiu Manda. “He said he doesn't have any emotions”
Claudiu Manda, the general secretary of the PSD, said on Tuesday, April 21, that the social democrats would propose Sorin Grindeanu for the position of prime minister, stressing that he “she can withdraw at any time” from the head of the Chamber of Deputies.

“A situation like this happened 4 years ago, when the USR asked the PNL to change the prime minister and the PNL changed the prime minister. That's when Mr. Orban was removed and Mr. Cîțu came”. he transmitted to Digi24.
In this context, the social-democratic leader states that the PSD has decided not to continue the collaboration with Ilie Bolojan in the position of prime minister and is waiting for him to make a decision in the next period.
“If he wants to continue in this adventure as prime minister, only then are we talking about a political crisis in which, having no more support, you still remain in power. There is the blunt dialogue from the PNL, which ultimately shows that things are not right there either.
And maybe our reasons for anger, the fact that he doesn't listen to all opinions, that he doesn't make decisions for people, that he makes decisions rather against people, can be seen”claims Claudiu Manda.

He also said that “now we don't see turbulence” and that he had spoken to all ministers, adding that “we don't have any emotions in this regard, each of them will withdraw, they will probably also present an activity report that they also presented to their colleagues”.
“Mr. Grindeanu said that he has no emotions. He can withdraw from this position at any time. It is not about the Chamber of Deputies, because that is a decision-making body. Things worked there.
I was in the government, I participated in these decisions, I came up with other measures that were not taken into account or were postponed. There were decisions, some of them stupid, made without our consent.” states the general secretary of the PSD.
Claudiu Manda states that the PSD is not afraid of the social media confrontation, claiming that it could even win it, and rejects the idea of a coordinated action in the PNL against Ilie Bolojan, in the context of the tensions in the party.
“We have said since September that we are coming with economic recovery measures, precisely saying the moment you fire people from the public sector, let's find, let's create opportunities, for business to develop, for these people to go there. From September to February, there was no dialogue with his lordship on this subject.
He said “yes, the PSD has it”, we had to “blackmail”, let's say, the emergency ordinances to reform the de facto cuts in the local and central public administration will not enter the Parliament unless those from the economic recovery measures also enter. It's the way it works.

Ministers could withdraw on Thursday

“It's not that we're tying ourselves to the seats, it's that it sends a message that we're withdrawing from everything and we're no longer willing to return to a pro-European coalition…. We said we're willing, in the context in which these parties want us to rebuild this pro-European coalition with another prime minister. It can be from the PNL, according to the protocol.”
Last but not least, the PSD representative states that Sorin Grindeanu could be proposed as prime minister.
“If the question arises that the PSD should propose him as prime minister, I think we are not in a situation to reject it. That is, we are not running away from responsibility. And if there should be a nomination from the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu is our proposal”. says Claudiu Manda.
PSD voted overwhelmingly to withdraw political support
We remind you that on Monday, April 20, the PSD members' consultation, entitled “The moment of truth”, ended with a crushing vote: 97.7% of the 5,000 delegates decided to withdraw political support for Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan.
“The mandate we received from you, we, is as clear as possible. When 97.7% of your colleagues tell you that this is the mandate, that Ilie Bolojan must go home, there is no room for anything else. I and Claudiu and the vice-presidents and all the party leadership understood this”. said Sorin Gindeanu, PSD president, after the vote.
Later, following the extended meeting of the National Political Bureau of the National Liberal Party, Ilie Bolojan declared that the formation he leads mandated the party leadership and the prime minister to ensure governmental stability in the context of the current political crisis and to take the necessary steps to maintain a functional majority in Parliament.
“From this point of view, I have now been to the extended National Political Bureau of the National Liberal Party, which was also attended by parliamentarians, groups from the Senate and the Chamber, and the most important elected officials from the local public administration: the mayors of county residences, the presidents of county councils.
A resolution was voted that reinforces what I declared last night, namely the mandate for the leadership of the PNL and for me as prime minister, to ensure governmental stability in the face of the crisis generated by PSD's irresponsible decision and to take all steps to ensure parliamentary support for the Government”he said.
