Senator Dmitry Savelyev was detained. He was taken at the exit from a meeting in the Federation Council. Preliminarily, the case is connected with involvement in organizing a murder and, according to our information, dates back to the time of his work at Transneft OJSC. Previously, the senator was stripped of his immunity at the request of Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov.
Savelyev has been a member of the Federation Council from the Tula region since October 2016. His powers expire in September. In the late 90s, he was president of Transneft OJSC and was a member of the board of the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of the Russian Federation.
