If you say “no” during the wedding ceremony at the registry office, even as a joke, then the marriage registration may be cancelled. This is due to legal requirements, the Civil Registry Office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory said.
They reminded that inOn the day of the wedding, the future spouses come to the registry office at the appointed place and time, having filled out all the necessary documents in advance. EIf the couple has chosen a ceremony, the bride, groom and their guests are invited to the reception hall, where the registry office employee makes a congratulatory speech and asks the key question: “Is your desire to get married free and mutual?”
“At this moment, it is important to remember: the law does not allow jokes. Even if someone answers “no” jokingly, the registration may be cancelled. According to Article 12 of the Family Code of the Russian Federation, mutual and voluntary consent of a man and a woman is necessary for marriage. This is exactly what is checked during the ceremony – after all, this is not just a formality, but the basis of a future family. PTherefore, leave humor for the festive feast. At the registry office, only one correct answer is possible – a confident and sincere “yes”!” the department warned.
