PSD put the guns on Ilie Bolojan. Claudiu Manda: “They cling to power to sell state companies”

Claudiu Manda, the general secretary of the PSD, harshly accuses the government led by Ilie Bolojan of having violated the “red lines” assumed in the coalition and criticizes the prime minister, whom he says is “clinging to power to sell state companies”.

For some time, the exchange of words between the PSD and the PNL, parties theoretically in a partnership relationship within the same governing coalition, has taken on an increasingly harsh tone, and the political “fouls” seem to be more and more serious from day to day. Disputes are no longer just differences of opinion, but have come to be accompanied by direct accusations.

In this context, Claudiu Manda, the general secretary of the PSD, launched a direct attack on the current government, stating that the social democrats are not afraid of political confrontations or going into opposition, but they cannot remain in an executive formula that they consider directed against the citizens.

“We are not afraid of any political battle, we are not afraid of the opposition. But we have a greater responsibility than any function, the responsibility towards the Romanians. That is why we must be united, be committed and have courage. Because when the PSD is strong and coherent, Romania moves forward. And I say this to all Romanians and our colleagues, beyond what we have seen on Facebook for two days, with bots, tiribots, Ostrogoths, robots: don't be afraid, Ilia poverty falls”, declared Manda during the extraordinary conference for the election of PSD Sector 4 president.

In his speech, the social-democratic leader claimed that the government led by Ilie Bolojan would have been built “without dialogue and without consultation”, being erroneously presented as a government of reforms.

“Reform doesn't just mean cuts, it doesn't mean putting all the burden on the shoulders of the people. Reform means building, developing and creating perspectives. It means dialogue and responsibility, not decisions imposed from above, unrelated to the reality of the communities. I tell you directly: there is no more room for half measures. And I ask you today openly: dear colleagues, can we continue with this government against the Romanians? Do we still stand with Bolojan in this direction? Excluded! Our choice should represents a normality for the whole country. We choose development, not blockage, we choose responsibility, not rigidity, we choose well-being and not pressure on people”. Claudiu Manda also said, quoted by Agerpres.

He recalled that, upon entering the coalition, PSD established two “red lines”: maintaining the purchasing power of the population and continuing public investments in hospitals, highways, schools, as well as in basic infrastructure such as public lighting, water networks and sewage.

“Today we are in a situation where these red lines have been violated. Moreover, at the beginning this coalition functioned by blackmailing Mr. Bolojan. If something was not as his lordship wanted, he threatened to leave. Now, when we started to show the Romanians how much all these measures imposed by his lordship cost the Romanians, Mr. Bolojan no longer wants to leave. He wants to stay there and govern as he wants. Very good, but not with us. We cannot accept a government in which the measures proposed by the PSD for Romanians are postponed, or obtained through threats to withdraw from the government”. the social democrat pointed out.

“The PSD has never agreed to austerity without an economic recovery package. The PSD has never agreed to cutting the rights of vulnerable people, mothers, pensioners, people with disabilities, and it never will. And right now, in the 12th hour, what is Mr. Bolojan doing? He is clinging to power to sell state companies.” Claudiu Manda ended his tirade against the prime minister and the government.
