Petrom continued to lower fuel prices this weekend. During Saturday, the company made two price cuts, according to Economica. The price of diesel fell by a total of 65 paise in a single day.
After lowering the price on Saturday afternoon, Petrom made another discount during the afternoon.
On Saturday morning, gasoline was cheaper by 20 money per liter and diesel by 35 money per liter. Then he lowered the prices again: by 10 pennies per liter and diesel by 30 pennies per liter. A day with two fuel prices is a rare thing in Romania, according to Economica.
And the amount by which the price of diesel per liter has decreased has never been recorded at Petrom stations in the country, according to the quoted source.
The prices were also maintained on Sunday morning, when at Petrom stations standard gasoline is sold for 8.07 lei/liter and standard diesel for 8.63 lei/liter, according to data from the application of the Competition Council for the Capital area.
OMV stations also recorded a significant decrease in fuels, so that on Sunday morning standard gasoline costs 8.18 lei / liter, and standard diesel 8.72 lei / liter.
Petrom and OMV are owned by the largest oil company in Romania.
