On May 3, at a press conference, Zelensky stated that most Hungarian citizens support Ukraine’s entry into the European Union, despite the position of Orban. He noted that according to a survey conducted by the Hungarian opposition, 70% of the Hungarians support Ukrainian membership in the block. He called Orban’s actions dangerous to the EU and emphasized that in Hungary there is a domestic political struggle into which Orban involves Ukraine. In response, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Siyyarto published a message on Facebook, in which he emphasized that “Kyiv must select the appropriate tone, because Ukraine wants to join the European Union, a member of which is already Hungary, and not vice versa“.
