Tehran is working on a solution

It is not known whether Iran would also agree to remove mines placed in the strait, or whether all ships, including those associated with Israel, would be able to pass through it freely.

A Reuters source in the Western security services confirmed that Tehran is preparing a proposal regarding free navigation in Omani waters, although it is not known whether Washington has yet responded to it.

The authorities in Tehran have de facto closed the Strait of Hormuz, crucial for the global transport of energy resources, after Israel and the United States started a war against Iran on February 28. Due to the blockade, hundreds of tankers and other ships and 20,000 sailors stranded in the Persian Gulf. Control of this route remains a key issue in negotiations between Iran and the US. The American blockade of tankers leaving Iranian ports has been ongoing since Monday.
