Rapid – FC Argeș, victory or crisis for Costel Gâlcă's team
Pressure on the shoulders of the sprinters before the game in Giulesti. Costel Gâlcă's team will play only with children in the stands and risk entering into a crisis. If he loses, it would be the third consecutive failure, after those with CFR Cluj (0-1) and U Cluj (1-2).
It is basically one of the last chances for the title for the people of Giulești. U Cluj and Universitatea Craiova each have 36 points, 5 more than Rapid, and the two meet in a direct match.
On the other side, FC Argeș comes after the draw obtained against Dinamo, score 1-1. The residents of Pitesti can also access the European corridor through the Betano Romanian Cup, where they will meet U Cluj in the semifinals.
In the last direct duel, played on December 2, FC Argeș prevailed at home, score 2-1.
The Rapidists will not be able to count on Cătălin Vulturar (22 years old), who may no longer play this season due to an injury, in the midfield.
VIDEO | Bogdan Andone, statements before Rapid – FC Argeș: “They will certainly have a different attitude”
Here are the thoughts of Bogdan Andone, the coach of Pitesti, before the game:
“I think it will definitely be a difficult match, especially since Rapidul is coming after this match lost at home against Cluj University. They will certainly have a different attitude and expression in the match against us.
I played at Rapid, I also trained for a short period, one year, with Marius Șumudica as second coach. I kind of know how the team reacts, especially after losing games and especially at home, so it's definitely going to be an extremely, extremely difficult game on Monday night.
I am sorry that this game is not played with supporters, because it is a real pleasure to play in Giulesti with a full stadium and I think that the evolution of the players, and the game itself, would have benefited from the presence of supporters in the stadium.
Indeed, there is some pressure, but at the same time this pressure could have spilled over to the home team and at some point be an advantage for us.
But no matter how many children or women there are, we have to try to look after our game and make a good, consistent game and a positive result.
Pretty much the whole lot is valid. Unfortunately, this week I had all kinds of physical and mental fatigue problems. They kind of lacked players in turn, so to speak, almost every day of the week.
We will have individual discussions and as a group, to see if everyone is fit, to try to choose the players who are the best prepared or rested both physically and mentally to look good in this match.
I want to thank all those who were at the match with Dinamo from the last stage, and those who were at the stadium and those who supported us in front of the televisions, and wish them all a happy, peaceful and blessed Easter with their families and loved ones”, said Bogdan Andone, at the press conference.
