Serbia's football federation has made an unexpected decision in terms of the match against England in the World Championship preliminaries. He will not play in Belgrade, on the biggest stadium in the country, but in Leskovac, on the new “dubocal” arena. The decision aroused reactions from the English.
Many times, even the footballers of the Serbian national, said they feel excellent there and have expressed again the desire to play on the “Dubocica” stadium, due to the more intense atmosphere and the contact closer to the public. As an additional reason, the positive track record is also invoked on this land. Serbia defeated Switzerland in the League of Nations in Leskovac.

The decision of the Serbian football federation surprised the public in England. The British press, more precisely the tabloid “The Sun”, reported with a dose of mistrust that the match will not be played in Belgrade, but in a “town 170 kilometers south of the capital”, according to Sportal.rs, with an interesting remark:
“The match will not be played in the infernal atmosphere of the Star Red stadium, which has a capacity of 53,000 spectators. Serbia has decided to play on an arena with a capacity of only 8,136 seats. This stadium is smaller than the stadiums of 15 teams in Liga 4 English,” the British noted from The Sun, according to the public.
The Dubocica Stadium is located in the city of Leskovac and is the land of the GFK Dubocica club team. With a capacity of 8136 seats and hybrid lawn, the stadium was opened in August 2023. About 28 million euros cost the flirty arena in the Serbian town.
On the small stadium in the Dubocica were also played European matches: Cukaricki, a team from Belgrade, played the matches in the Europa League play-off and the Conference League groups. The arena did not take good luck to Cukaricki: 4 defeats out of 4 matches in Leskovac.
