
As a result of the accident, at least one person was killed (a 77-year-old man) and 27 were injured. There were tourists from Great Britain on board.
According to rescuers, the bus drove off the GM-2 road and fell into the gorge. Three of the victims are in serious condition. All the wounded, including the seriously injured, were evacuated by helicopter to hospitals.
The accident occurred on a popular tourist island in the Canary archipelago, where vacationers from Northern Europe regularly come.
According to tour operator Holiday Property Bond, the bus was transporting tourists to the airport, from where they were supposed to return to Britain.
Spanish police have begun investigating the cause of the accident. It is known that this is not the first such incident on this road – last year there was also a fatal accident here.
