US-Iran negotiations coming soon. Donald Trump with a new entry

In response to the attacks by the United States and Israel, which began in the last days of February, Iran is blocking the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the most strategically important sea routes in the world. Ships carrying, among others, crude oil and gas are unable to flow there, which causes delays in deliveries and an increase in commodity prices on world markets.

On Wednesday night, Donald Trump announced that he had agreed to Pakistan's proposal for a two-week ceasefire provided that Iran agreed to immediately open the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian side, in response, indicated that the passage through the Strait of Hormuz within two weeks “will be possible thanks to coordination with the Iranian armed forces and taking due account of technical limitations.”

However, a few days after the truce was concluded, this route remains blocked. In two days, only 12 ships passed through the strait, and about 600 vessels were stranded in the Persian Gulf. Moreover, there were reports that Iran had mined the strait.

On Friday evening, Donald Trump, apparently dissatisfied with the situation, spoke out. “The Iranians don't seem to realize that they have no advantages beyond short-term blackmailing the world by exploiting international waterways,” he wrote on Truth Social.

The first round of talks between representatives of the US and Iran is scheduled to take place on Saturday. On Thursday, Trump sent mixed signals about the chances of negotiations. In an interview with NBC, he said he was very optimistic and that Iranians were much more “reasonable” in private conversations than in public communications. But then, in a series of posts on Truth Social, he expressed his irritation with Iran charging fees for transit through the Strait of Hormuz and stopping traffic through this strategic waterway.
