The Rada extended the military levy for three years after the end of the war

The bill also stipulates that a special fund will be created in the budget specifically for military needs. This is where the military muster should go.

This year it is planned to collect 163 billion UAH from such collection, the deputy noted.

257 people’s deputies voted for the basis and in general.

According to the Ministry of Finance,The law provides for the continuation of payment of military taxes in the current amounts for three years after the termination or lifting of martial law.

The law stipulates that during these three years the current military levy rates will apply:

  • for individuals – 5% (for military personnel and employees of the security and defense sector – 1.5%);
  • for individuals – entrepreneurs of the 1st, 2nd and 4th groups of the single tax – 10% of the minimum wage;
  • for single tax payers of the 3rd group (individuals – entrepreneurs and legal entities, except e-residents) – 1% of income.

The department emphasized that the adoption of the law is an important step to fulfill Ukraine’s international obligations, in particular, within the framework of cooperation with the International Monetary Fund.

Zheleznyak also noted that this is one of the bills from the IMF package. The second bill from this package – No. 15111 on the taxation of digital platforms – was not included on the agenda because one vote was missing, the people’s deputy said.

Due to serious problems with voting and criticism of the government, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, head of the Office of the President Kirill Budanov and head of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia held a series of meetings with people's deputies to resume the work of the Verkhovna Rada, notes BBC News Ukraine.

Sviridenko personally met with the heads of parliamentary committees. She called on MPs to be constructive and support the reforms necessary to receive international funding.

Budanov for the first time held a meeting with the leadership of the Rada and parliamentary committees. He convinced deputies to vote for critical bills, removing some of the conflict issues between Bankova and parliament.

Arakhamia returned to active management of the deputy corps in “emergency mode,” the publication writes. He held meetings with all 15 faction subgroups to settle internal disputes and ensure votes were available.

The main result of the “persuasions” was the Rada’s readiness to vote for the IMF demands and European integration laws in the near future, notes BBC News Ukraine.
