
Law enforcement officials believe he is involved in spreading fake news in support of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. Now he heads the editorial office of the Telegram channels of the directorate of the publication “Ukraina.ru” in Crimea captured by the Russians, the report says.
“The figure on the pages of the propaganda media supports the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, spreads fakes about the internal situation in Ukraine and tries to undermine the country’s image at the international level. For example, Kevorkian actively posts his own posts in which he justifies the war crimes of the Russians, supports the creation of “Novorossiya from Odessa to Kharkov” and the occupation of the territories of Ukraine. The propagandist spreads fakes about the supposed mass desire of Ukrainians leave for the Russian Federation,” the SBU said.
Kevorkyan was informed of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – Part 6 of Art. 111-1 (collaboration activities) and Part 3 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants). The sanctions of the articles provide for up to 12 years of imprisonment.
