The reason is sharp increase in prices of crude oil and petroleum products after US President Donald Trump's speech on Thursday. He announced in his message the possibility of escalation of the conflict with Iran, while suggesting that unblocking the strategic Strait of Hormuz is no longer a priority for the United Statesbut should be a target for countries using this transport route.
Reflex experts predict that the first increases in diesel prices may take place as early as Saturday, April 4.

“The first increase in maximum diesel prices by approximately PLN 9 per liter, to PLN 7.74/l, is possible before the end of the week,” analysts indicate in their report.
Effects of the government CPN package
In recent days, fuel prices in Poland have fallen thanks to the government's introduction of the CPN (Fuel Prices Lower) program. During the week, gasoline became cheaper by almost PLN 1/l, and diesel by PLN 1.20/l. Currently, the average national prices of petrol and diesel are PLN 4 and PLN 8 per liter, respectively, lower than the maximum prices in force on April 2.
Despite these reductions, Reflex analysts warn that This year's Easter may be more expensive for drivers.
“In the context of fuel prices, this year's Easter will be a little more expensive for drivers who fill up with petrol and much more expensive for drivers who fill up with diesel oil, but the situation is also exceptional,” experts emphasize.

For comparison, in 2025, during the Easter period, the average price of EU95 petrol was PLN 5.92/l, diesel oil PLN 6/l, and LPG gas PLN 3.08/l. The current fluctuations in fuel prices are therefore a clear reflection of the dynamic situation on global markets and geopolitical tensions.
