The agency from Hexagon, which in 2024 brokered the transfer of Kader Keita (25 years old) to CFR, currently at Rapid, complained to the Cluj Specialized Court – Commercial Section that it did not collect the commission from the club and is demanding the insolvency of the group from Gruia. The French are added to a longer list in a file that includes several entities in similar disputes with Cluj. Today, CFR should prove that it no longer had debts on February 28, otherwise it risks missing the European license for next season

CFR Cluj had a formidable run in the championship and entered the play-off with fanfare, being now among the favorites for the title, but financial problems continue to grind in the offices in Gruia.

The newest topic on the board's table is a dispute started by the representatives of the current speedster Kader Keita, who requested in court the opening of the club's insolvency procedures due to the refusal to pay a transfer fee. The amount is not a large one, but the approach is already attached to a file pending before the Cluj Specialized Court – Commercial Section, in which several entities made the same request against the group financed by Ioan Varga.

19,800 euros that hangs like a new millstone related to the CFR

Moved from CFR to Rapid, Kader Keita was detained for 24 hours after the road accident in Bucharest at the beginning of March

The Ivorian was recruited by CFR Cluj from Sivasspor in January 2024, when the Transylvanians paid 120,000 euros to the Turks. The mediation services belonged to an agency from Hexagon, ACM Footbal Conseil, which claims that it has not yet collected its related rights, i.e. 19,800 euros.

The club also received notices to close the debt, but since CFR did not offer any response, ACM went to the next step, that is, the complaint in court. The goal is to trigger insolvency and transfer the amount to the table of creditors.

Ioan Varga and president Iuliu Mureșan did not respond to GSP's calls and messages to provide a point of view.

Meanwhile, spent in Giulesti from February 2025, first loan, then permanent transfer, a total deal of 400,000 euros, Kader Keita committed a serious road accident on March 3, in sector 2 of the Capital. He hit a 68-year-old woman on the pedestrian crossing, who is currently hospitalized at the Floreasca Emergency Hospital, after suffering multiple traumas. Upset by the event, the African left the scene of the accident, and was then detained for 24 hours.

He is currently under judicial review and returned to the pitch in the last stage of the play-offs, when he was introduced in the 63rd minute in place of Grameni.

The “Lovro Cvek case” has been resolved, others remain on the file's agenda

According to the data available on the court portal, the list of those who requested the opening of insolvency also includes PD Sport Management DOO, impresario Cătălin Sărmășan, Marina Pine Blu SRL and Safe Security SRL.

CFR Cluj is no longer escaping troubles: the midfielder's manager requests the club's insolvency! + D-Day in Gruia for the payment of debts of over one million euros

Cătălin Sărmasan, suspended for one year by the FRF, also complained to the CFR for non-payment of a commission

From the progress of the deadlines, it appears that only the first company gave up the process, a sign that things have settled down. There we are talking about the agency that represented the Croatian Lovro Cvek, who was at CFR during 2022-2024 (53 matches, 2 goals). The midfielder is now developing at FC Voluntari (L2), after spending time at Ordabasy (Kazakhstan) and Sibenik (Croatia).

Cătălin Sărmasan, the agent suspended for one year by the FRF for involvement in betting, is “fighting” with the CFR for the commission following the transfer of Andres Șfaiț, brought last summer from Salernitana (Serie B).

The trial had its latest deadline on March 26, and the Court adjourned the case to May 28 “in order to carry out the steps that are required at the current stage of the procedure”.

Varga is counting on a saving loan from a businessman from Cluj!

CFR Cluj is no longer escaping troubles: the midfielder's manager requests the club's insolvency! + D-Day in Gruia for the payment of debts of over one million euros

Ioan Varga, the owner of CFR Cluj, has to solve a new financial crisis in Gruia in the last hundred meters

But they are not the only troubles in Varga's yard. The newspaper reported the other day that the players reached the level of three outstanding salaries, plus a number of unpaid bonuses. The amount would exceed the value of one million euros.

And the CFR should resolve the debt table no later than March 31, today, or obtain scheduling agreements with the footballers, so as not to jeopardize obtaining the UEFA license for the next edition of the European Cups.

Varga allegedly promised from abroad that things would be resolved in time. GSP sources talk about the fact that the boss from Gruia would be helped with a loan by a businessman from Cluj, close to the club, so that he can get over this financial hop.

Last summer, Varga similarly saved the ship on the last hundred meters, after paying off debts of 1.6 million euros on the last day, of which 750,000 euros came from a murky real estate deal with Clever Media Network. The story was featured extensively by GSP. The company is controlled by Adrian Tomșa from Cluj and includes the Prima Sport stations, which hold the rights to broadcast League 1 matches, in parallel with Digi Sport.
