The Romanian Handball Federation announced the women's national team for the “double” with Norway and Poland in the EHF Euro Cup. The biggest surprise is the return of Bianca Bazaliu to the national team, she not being considered by Ovidiu Mihăilă until this moment.

The Romanian women's national handball team is preparing for the last two matches of the EHF Euro Cup group stage. On Wednesday, April 8, the tricolors will receive the visit of Norway in Bucharest, and on Sunday, April 12, they will play away against Poland (Radom).

Ovidiu Mihăilă announced the team of handball players with whom he will tackle the “double” in the EHF Euro Cup, Gloria Bistrita being the best represented team in the Flower League (7 players). The biggest surprise is the return of Bianca Bazaliu to the national team.

A basic handball player in recent years, Bazaliu did not enter Ovidiu Mihăilă's plans, he choosing to summon Maria Kanaval Skrobic to the World Championship at the end of 2025.

Also, it is interesting that only two goalkeepers appear on the list announced by FRH: Diana Ciucă and Bianca Curment.

Here is what the Romanian women's national team looks like

  1. Bianca Bazaliu (Gloria Bistrita)

  2. Alisia Boiciuc (CSM Corona Brașov)

  3. Yaroslava Burlachenko (Gloria Bistrita)

  4. Diana Ciucă (Rapid Bucharest)

  5. Bianca Curment (CSM Corona Brașov)

  6. Asma Elghaoui (SCM Râmnicu Vâlcea)

  7. Alicia Gogîrla (SCM Craiova)

  8. Sorina Grozav (CSM Corona Brașov)

  9. Eva Kerekes (Gloria Bistrita)

  10. Cristina Laslo (Gloria Bistrița)

  11. Lorena Ostase (Gloria Bistrita)

  12. Beatrice Raicea (Brăila Danube)

  13. Elena Roșu (Brăila Danube)

  14. Sonia Seraficeanu (Gloria Bistrita)

  15. Stefania Stoica (Gloria Bistrita)

  16. Alexandra Szoke (CSM Bucharest)

Ovidiu Mihăilă will continue to be helped by Iulia Curea (second coach) and Daniel Apostu (goalkeeping coach). With a record of 3 wins and one loss, Romania ranks second and has secured its presence in the Final 4 of the EHF Euro Cup, a friendly competition in which national teams already qualified for the 2026 European Championship participate. Final 4 will take place at the end of September.
