The Minister of Energy has set maximum fuel prices; From Tuesday, EU95 petrol will cost no more than PLN 6.16 per liter, EU98 petrol – PLN 6.76, and diesel – PLN 7.60. Maximum prices are to apply from the day following the announcement, i.e. from Tuesday, March 31.

According to the announcement of the Minister of Energy, the maximum price for unleaded 95 petrol (CN 2710 12 45) is PLN 5.42 per 1 liter, plus the goods and services tax – PLN 6.16 per 1 liter. For unleaded 98 petrol (CN 2710 12 49), the maximum price is PLN 5.98 per 1 liter (plus the tax). on goods and services is PLN 6.76 per 1 l), and for diesel oil it is PLN 6.76 per 1 l, and increased by the tax on goods and services is PLN 7.60 per 1 l.
Maximum prices are to apply from the day following the announcement, i.e. from Tuesday, March 31. Sales above the maximum price will be subject to a penalty of up to PLN 1 million, and inspections will be carried out by the National Tax Administration. The maximum price is determined according to a specific formula, including the average wholesale price of fuels on the domestic market, plus excise duty, fuel fee, sales margin of PLN 0.30 per liter and VAT.
In the morning it was announced that Orlen had reduced wholesale fuel prices, including Eurosuper 95 unleaded petrol by PLN 290 per cubic meter and Ekodiesel diesel oil by PLN 280 per cubic meter. The last time wholesale fuel prices changed there was on Saturday and it was an increase.

On Monday, a regulation came into force that reduced excise duty on gasoline and diesel oil. According to it, until April 15, the reduced excise tax on gasoline is PLN 1,239 per 1,000 liters; in the case of diesel fuels – PLN 880 per 1,000 liters; in the case of biocomponents constituting independent fuels – PLN 880 per 1,000 liters.
On Saturday, two acts and a regulation aimed at reducing fuel prices at stations were published in the Journal of Laws. The new regulations will allow for limiting price increases, among others. by reducing excise duty on fuel and introducing a maximum price.
Two regulations of the Minister of Finance and Economy concerning the reduction of tax on goods and services and excise duty on fuel were also published in the Journal of Laws. VAT reduced to 8%. is to be valid from March 31 to April 30 this year. Reduced excise tax – from March 30 to April 15.
On Friday, the Sejm passed and the Senate adopted without amendments an amendment to the Act on stocks of crude oil, petroleum products and natural gas and rules of conduct in situations of threat to the state's fuel security and disruptions on the oil market, and the Act on the National Revenue Administration, as well as an amendment to the Act on excise tax. The aim of both acts was to reduce fuel prices at stations.
The government is getting ready for oil to be priced at $150. per barrel?
Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański, asked on Saturday whether the Ministry of Finance is prepared for a situation in which a barrel of oil would cost $150, which has never happened before, the head of the Ministry of Finance replied that not only the ministry, but the entire country “is equipped with analytical centers that build scenarios for various potential geopolitical events.” He mentioned the Center for Eastern Studies as an example.
– I will not reveal at this moment what the scenarios they are drawing are. However, I can reassure you: the state is prepared for various scenarios. That's why we have reserves of oil, fuel and gas, so that we can use them in absolutely exceptional situations – said the head of the Ministry of Finance.
