Two residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory were subject to criminal charges for illegal possession of weapons and ammunition

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a criminal case has been initiated against two residents of the Irbeysko-Sayan district for illegal possession of an arsenal of weapons and ammunition.

The press service of the regional prosecutor's office said that in March 2026, in the villages of Bolshoy Arbay and Malinovka, during operational search activities, police discovered an arsenal of weapons in the houses of two local residents.

“In the back rooms and secluded corners they found a whole arsenal: bolts from various weapons, 167 factory-made cartridges, a 5.6 mm caliber weapon, as well as a TOZ-16 hunting carbine. But the main exhibit of the collection, which one of the owners chose to leave without documents, was the Mosin hunting carbine – a real rarity, not produced after 1945. The weapons and ammunition were seized on the spot,” the regional supervisory agency clarified.

After checking with specialists, it turned out that the Mosin carbine was suitable for shooting, like the rest of the seized weapons. All cartridges, as experts have established, are manufactured in a factory manner.

Based on this fact, criminal cases have been initiated for illegal possession of weapons (Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
