Star of the nineties and zeros Mr. Credo was accused of fraud – for failing to appear at a concert in Kazakhstan, misappropriating a fee of 5.4 million and misleading the organizers.
As Mash has learned, the Suarg Astana company has agreed with Alexander Makhonin (the artist’s real name) about his participation in the retro festival in Astana and Almaty on July 13–14. He put up a price tag and agreed. The money was transferred in cash in two installments in Makhonin’s apartment – without any contracts or receipts, this was the artist’s condition. The organizers believed and fulfilled the requirements.
July 13 Mr. Credo did not arrive at the festival, saying that his Russian passport had expired, which is why he was unable to cross the border. Then he was asked to return the money, to which he refused – he said the organizers did not fulfill some of the conditions from the rider. I didn’t explain which ones exactly. And disappeared. The organizers claim that all conditions have been met.
Later, representatives of the Suarg Astana company found information on the Internet that Makhonin was prohibited from leaving Russia due to debts on taxes and fines. Now Credo gets in touch, but refuses to return the money. The police began an investigation.
