An RO-Alert message was sent, Sunday evening, to the residents of the north of Tulcea county. They are warned that there is a risk of objects falling from the airspace because the Romanian Air Force has detected targets near the Romanian airspace.
“A few minutes ago, IGSU issued an RO-Alert message for the northern area of Tulcea county, informing residents that objects may fall from the airspace after the Air Force General Staff detected a group of targets near the Romanian airspace”, the representatives of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (ISU) Tulcea sent.
People are advised to take shelter in cellars or civil protection buildings. The estimated duration of the alert is 90 minutes.
According to ISU Tulcea, until this moment there have been no calls received in the Tulcea inspectorate's dispatch office.
Fighter jets, raised in the air to monitor the situation
The air defense systems of the Ministry of National Defense were put on alert in the evening of Sunday, March 22, as a result of the detection of radar signals east of Sulina, reports MApN
The fighter jet is patrolling the north of Tulcea county to monitor the situation.
“The Ministry of National Defense is coordinating with allies in real time. We will return with details on this topic,” the Army announced.
