EVA urged the Ministry of Development not to change railway tariffs in the direction of ports: Ukrzaliznytsia will suffer losses due to the coefficients The Association stated that Ukrzaliznytsia's efforts to introduce coefficients to tariffs in the direction of sea ports will only harm Ukrainian exporters and the economy in general.
The EBA's statement on this matter states that the new initiative of JSC UZ contradicts the principles of equal access to infrastructure and creates risks of non-compliance with antimonopoly legislation. Therefore, the Ministry of Development should refuse the UZ to introduce these coefficients.
In fact, setting different tariffs for different ports is a manual intervention of a monopolist in the market economy, and is against the law.
Due to such actions of the UZ, exporters are reorienting cargo to road transport. Accordingly, Ukrzaliznytsia will lose both work and income.
