On March 26, a film adaptation of the book by Krasnoyarsk writer Anna Jane “Your Heart Will Be Broken” will be released in cinemas. The film is rated 16+.
According to the summary, the melodrama tells the story of high school student Polina, who faces bullying at school. A bully nicknamed Bars helps her cope with this – a rebel who agreed to pretend to be her boyfriend in order to protect her from attacks. As a result, real feelings flare up in teenagers, but their families and classmates.
The director of the film is Mikhail Weinberg. He directed the series “Mom Detective”, “Freud’s Method”, “Pregnancy Test”. The film company Ol Media Company, the online cinema START and the Sverdlovsk Film Studio are responsible for the production of the film with the support of the Cinema Fund.
The main roles are played by Veronika Zhuravleva (known for her roles in the film “Crybaby” and the series “Daddy’s Daughters. New”), as well as Daniel Vegas (real name Daniil Cherkas, starred in the Ukrainian series “School”).
Let us remind you that Anna Jane (real name Anna Potapkina) has been the most published author in Russia for several years. She was born and lived in Krasnoyarsk, died in 2023 at the age of 35 due to health problems. During her career, she wrote 55 books in the young adult genre (literature for teenagers), which are published in more editions than those of Dostoevsky and other classics.
