A mistake by a French officer. Reveals the position of the aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean Sea

A French daily identified a military man who was running on the deck of the ship on March 13 and recording his training using a smartwatch. Data from the device was sent to the Internet, so everyone could see the exact route of the race and the ship's whereabouts. “Le Monde” confirmed that the aircraft carrier was then located northwest of Cyprus, about 100 kilometers from the Turkish coast.
According to the diary, the young officer unconsciously updated the location of the entire French aircraft carrier group, which, in addition to Charles de Gaulle, included at least three frigates and a supply ship.
French group in the Mediterranean
The presence of the French aircraft carrier group in this region was no secret. President Emmanuel Macron announced on March 3 that he had ordered the deployment of a team of ships to the eastern Mediterranean after the outbreak of the conflict between Israel, the United States and Iran. Previously, Charles de Gaulle was in the Baltic Sea, where he took part in NATO exercises. It was originally scheduled to stay there until May.
As “Le Monde” points out, despite previous publications on the threats related to the use of sports applications by military personnel, this problem has not been solved yet. “Revealing the location of warships poses a serious risk to the security of military operations,” the newspaper emphasizes.
