NATO exercises. An old trick turns soldiers invisible

Meter-high snowdrifts, deep caves, and camouflaged soldiers among them: Norwegian elite units also train in combat against drones during the NATO Cold Response 2026 exercises taking place in Norway and Finland, in which several tens of thousands of soldiers from 14 countries take part. Quinzeei.e. hollow piles of fresh snow (they differ from igloos in, among other things, their smaller size and the fact that they are not made of ice blocks) piled and shaped by soldiers with their hands. Goal: become virtually invisible. According to Defense News, the Cold Response 2026 exercises are taking place in a remote Norwegian forest area, just a few hundred kilometers from the border with Russia. They are carried out every two years.
