Russian Science Foundation (RSF) summed up the results of three regional competitions for scientific research. The Krasnoyarsk Territory was among the leaders in the number of applications submitted and approved projects.

The Krasnoyarsk Regional Science Foundation said that 53 regional projects will receive support through two fundamental research competitions. Small scientific groups – 3 million rubles for two years, individual scientific groups – 22.5 million rubles for three years. Scientists will work in priority areas – from the creation of new materials and medical devices to the development of neural network algorithms and biotechnologies.

Another competition was held with the participation of enterprises from the real sector of the economy. This year, the Krasnoyarsk Territory was included in the selection for the first time, and immediately more than a third of all technological proposals came from enterprises in the region. As a result, 36 projects were selected, 15 of which represent the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Each project will receive up to 20 million rubles (10 million each from the Russian Science Foundation and the region), provided that the partner enterprise provides at least 10% co-financing annually.

The projects are designed for three years. Among the expected results is the creation of new design elements of antenna-feeder devices and increasing the efficiency of enrichment equipment.

“It is important to support the development of science in the region so that more young teams are included in technological leadership projects. Expanding grant support is one of the key tasks facing the region as part of scientific and technological development. We do this taking into account the traditionally established strong connection between industry and industry scientific groups: we determine the specific scientific specialization of the region and formulate scientific topics taking into account the socio-economic needs of the territory,” said Mikhail Kotyukov, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Let us recall that at the beginning of last year, following a meeting between the governor and the general director of the Russian Science Foundation, Vladimir Bespalov, it was decided to double federal funding for scientific research in the region. More than 200 million rubles will be allocated annually for scientific projects.
