A fire broke out, Sunday morning, at a historical monument church in Puchenii Mari commune, Prahova county. There were about 120 people inside, who evacuated in time, announces ISU Prahova.
The fire manifests itself with an open flame at the church towers, and there are significant smoke emissions in the area, affecting an area of approximately 200 square meters, according to ISU Prahova.
Thick smoke is visible from a distance, according to local media.
About 120 people self-evacuated from the interior. So far, no casualties have been reported.
“Military firefighters from Detachment 2 Ploieşti intervene at the scene with 3 special fire trucks, an ambulance and an SMURD ambulance, and in support, a fire truck from the Balta Doamnei Work Point also acts. The probable cause of the fire will be established upon completion of the intervention,” stated ISU Prahova.
Traffic restricted on DN1
Due to the intervention in the fire area, traffic lane 1 on DN1 in the Bucharest-Ploiesti direction is blocked, IPJ Prahova said.
On the direction to Ploiești, large columns of vehicles formed, according to Prahova Online.
The traffic police are present on the spot to direct the traffic and streamline the traffic.
