US President Donald Trump admitted on Friday that he gives members of his administration a pair of elegant dress shoes as a gift. He emphasized that he did not want his co-workers to wear sports shoes.

When asked if it was true that he told members of his cabinet to wear the same Florsheim shoes, the president replied: – No, but they are good shoes. He noted that he “had been wearing bad and uncomfortable shoes for many years”, so buying shoes for his co-workers gives him pleasure.
“When they say they have a problem, I say, 'Let me buy you a pair of shoes,'” Trump said on the Brian Kilmeade Show on Fox News Radio on Friday.
– Now everyone looks elegant and nice – he added. – I don't like it when cabinet members wear sports shoes, Trump emphasized. – So I buy them a pair of shoes. It's a gift from Donald Trump, he said.
Earlier this week, the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump was giving the boot to friends, politicians and White House advisers. According to the newspaper Trump is “obsessed” with leather oxfords from the American brand Florsheim, which sell for about $145.
“The most fashionable and exclusive symbol of MAGA (Make America Great Again) status is a pair of leather oxfords,” the daily emphasized.
“All the boys wear them,” a White House official said. Another White House official joked:- It's hilarious because everyone is afraid not to wear them. Trump reportedly guesses aides' shoe sizeshis assistant orders a pair, then the order comes to the White House, and the president sometimes signs the box with the new pair before gifting it to its new owner.
In recent days, Internet users have drawn attention to a photo of US Secretary of State Marc Rubio in which he wears a pair of such shoes, but their size seems to be too big.
According to the White House, Trump himself pays for the shoes purchased on his orders. As mentioned by “WSJ”, in addition to Rubio, they also include, among others: Vice President JD Vance, Transport Minister Sean Duffy and Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth.
According to media reports, Donald Trump has been buying $145 Florsheim dress shoes for allies in his inner circle, and people are reportedly “afraid not to wear them.”

Rubio and Vance received their pairs after one of their meetings in the Oval Office in December. Vance recalled that Trump looked at their feet over the desk and said, “Marco, JD, you have shitty shoes.” A third politician was present in the cabinet, but Vance did not mention his name. Trump asked each of them their size. “The president leaned back in his chair and said, 'You know you can tell a lot about a man by his shoe size,'” Vance said.
