Gabi Balint (63 years old), the former great striker of Stella, spoke about the appointment of Mirel Rădoi to FCSB, after the Romanian champion will perform in the play-out. The former international says that he found out the reason why the technician left Craiova in November last year, and things would be even worse than was speculated in the public space.

Balint also spoke about the relationship between Radoi and the club management, but also about how Gigi Becali will manage the “interventions” within the team.

Gabi Balint, “inside” revelations about Radoi's departure from Craiova: “Yes, it's worse”

The former international explained that he learned certain things from the “inside”, but he cannot make them public.

“Don't exaggerate, because no one did anything to him. Honestly, I felt a little disappointed, because I appreciate Radoi a lot. He's a well-trained coach and has a great future ahead of him because of his age, but he makes some mistakes that he shouldn't. He was in Craiova, he left, I found out what was there, but I can't talk, because I found out some things and that's it, it remains between me and the person who told me. He was held accountable.

Asked if the situation would be worse than publicly discussed, Balint answered briefly: “Yes, it's worse.”

I, normally being a football player, talk to one and another and ask out of curiosity and find out some things, but it's not right to make them public. In a way, I also understand Radoi, but once again, here he has to work on the relationship with the officials, with the players. He is a serious boy, he has coaching talent, but he has a relationship between himself and the players where he is very radical, and in football, as in life, you have to be more malleable.”

Gabi Balint: “Gigi Becali cannot help but get involved”

The 1986 European Champions Cup winner with Steaua does not believe that boss Gigi Becali can stay away from the team and not get involved directly.

“It was a disappointment. FCSB is more of a family business. Gigi called him several times, sent him messages, one of the messages made him come back. Especially where he knows that the boss, where he promises, doesn't keep his word, it's something else. That he doesn't get involved, that he gives them a free hand, that he doesn't talk about certain things after matches, and it turned out that's not the case.

He will probably stay for a good while, but if something doesn't suit him after 2-3 games, he can't help but get involved. This is his hobby, he admitted, it's a hobby he spends his time with, and I don't think he'll stop doing it.

I think that Radoi will stay until the end of the championship, because I am sure that he will rectify the situation. I'm sure he'll sort things out. FCSB has the best team in the play-out, only they have to work mentally”, said Gabi Balint on the show “Fotbal Club” from Digi Sport.
