Trump did not reveal the details of his plan, but, as the newspaper noted, he has many options to choose from. Maybe, among others reach for oil from national strategic reserves, as previously called for by Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer.
According to Reuters, the president is expected to consider various solutions to curb price increases on Monday. The day before, commenting on oil prices exceeding $100 a barrel, Trump declared that more expensive crude oil in the short term was a very small price to pay for security and only fools would think otherwise. The administration argues that the price drop is a matter of “weeks, not months.”
