Auchan sells shopping centers. It concerns eight cities in Poland


Shopper Park Plus is a Hungarian investment company operating in the real estate market, listed on the Budapest Stock Exchange. Already in December, the company received consent from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection to acquire eight shopping centers in which the main tenant is the Auchan hypermarket. Now the parties have confirmed the signing of the contract and finalization of the takeover, SPP said in a statement.

The new owner of shopping centers announces development
The Hungarians took over a total of approx. 208,000. sq m of leasable space in eight cities. These are: Białystok, Częstochowa, Gliwice, Legnica, Łomianki, Sosnowiec, Szczecin and Wałbrzych. According to the release, shopping centers in these locations attract over 17.2 million visitors annually. Apart from Auchan, an important part of the tenants are large international brands such as Rossmann, Pepco, Jysk, Reserved and Carry.
The new owner of Auchan shopping centers announced that the transaction also covers approximately 1.6 million square meters of land, which provides the opportunity for further development of projects, including: in the drive-through formula, or infrastructure for charging electric cars.
SPP, which through its subsidiaries has a portfolio of 30 retail properties – 8 in Poland, 4 in the Czech Republic, 4 in Slovakia and 14 in Hungary, manages a total gross leasable area of over 600,000 m2. sq m. It is used by nearly a thousand tenants. In the long term, SPP aims to become a leader among owners and operators of retail parks in the Central and Eastern European region.
