Increases throughout the line in Brasov
From May 1, 2025, a bus or trolleybus trip to Brasov will cost 5 lei, and the monthly subscription will increase from 80 lei to 110 lei, writes mytex.ro. The ticket of 5 lei is valid for 60 minutes.
The subscription on one day, valid on all lines, is expensive from 12 lei, to 20 lei, and the one for three days, from 30 lei, to 50 lei. We are talking about increases of 60-65%.
In Brașov the “unique ticket” that costs 4 lei disappears and was valid for travel in the metropolitan area served by RATBV, regardless of distance.
Tickets outside Brasov will have a different price depending on how far the locality is and there will be three different tariffs. Thus, a trip will cost 5 lei to Cristian, Ghimbav, Sânpetru, Hărman and Săcele, 7 lei to Bod, Hălchiu, Vulcan, Prejmer, Tărlungeni, Codlea and Râșnov and 8 lei to Zărnești, Feldioara and Vama Buzau. For each of these areas, monthly subscriptions will be introduced, at prices between 80 and 240 lei.
The General Assembly of the Metropolitan Transport Association Brasov decided on March 24, the increase of prices for passenger transport in the metropolitan area, but also the return to the differentiated pricing (depending on the distance, writes Good Day Brasov. The fine for those who do not have a travel ticket remains at 200 lei.
RATBV has motivated increases in that the number of passengers has not increased in the last two years. The return to the tax system according to the distance traveled is necessary after the current tariff system, introduced in 2023, did not generate “the expected results regarding the significant increase in the number of clients”, said the transport company.
