March 5 16:00

In Berezovka, which is part of Krasnoyarsk, a difficult situation with flooding has arisen, Mayor Sergei Vereshchagin said in his Telegram channel.

He explained that after the thaw, a stream began to emerge from the riverbed, which flows in the Sukhoi Log area in Berezovka. 11 houses are at risk.

“We started eliminating the consequences back in the winter. We built a dam, and equipment periodically cleans the water drainage channels. With the arrival of warmer weather, the flooding here is likely to intensify. I set the task to conduct round-the-clock monitoring, to be in contact with residents,” explained the head of the city.

City Hall employees discussed issues of spring floods in new territories at an operational meeting. The number of places requiring increased control has been added. Old problem areas also remain – on Lesnaya, Tobolskaya, Shifernikov, 2nd Ogorodnaya. The mayor ordered to keep them under constant surveillance.

“Forecasters say there has been much more snow this winter. It is necessary to be prepared for different flood scenarios and to immediately respond to signals from Krasnoyarsk residents,” explained Sergei Vereshchagin.
