From May 1, patients will be able to examine “NFZ” as part of the new preventive program “My Health”. After completing the survey, making diagnostic tests, they will meet a doctor or nurse who will analyze their results. The patient will get an individual health plan.
In recent days, the Government Legislation Center (RCL) has published comments submitted during public arrangements and consultations to the draft health department regulation on guaranteed services in the field of basic healthcare, which introduces a new health balance.
On April 30, the pilot, repeatedly extended program “Prevention 40 Plus” will end. The new review “My health” is to come into force on May 1. Is directed to patients from 20 years of age and will cover heart disease, cancer, mental health, addiction, lifestyle and vaccination.
At the beginning, the doctor, nurse or prevention will conduct a survey with the patient. It can also be completed yourself via the patient's online account (IKP). The assumption is an in-depth interview regarding lifestyle, risk factors for cardiovascular disease, oncological diseases, including family intelligence, mental health. It will also include an environmental interview. The survey will also be an opportunity to verify the recommended vaccinations. Such a questionnaire after approval will be the basis for generating an order for the examination.
What tests will be done as part of “my health”?
These will be basic diagnostic tests: blood counts, blood glucose, blood creatinine levels, along with the estimated EGFR (kidney parameter), lipidogram taking into account total cholesterol, LDL, HDL and triglycerides, thyrotropic hormone (TSH – detects thyroid disorders). Extended diagnostic tests will be ordered depending on the age and result of the survey. They can be: Alanine aminotransferase (ALAT), aspartate aminotransferase (aspat), gammaglutamotranspeptidase (GGTP) – are liver tests, total dog (prostate hyperplasia) in men, anti -HCV (hepatitis C), lipoprotein A – performed as part of the balance sheet A 40 years of age (risk assessment of cardiovascular disease).
The summary visit will take place in the doctor's office or nurse within 14 days from the day when the patient passes the results of laboratory tests. The patient will have measured blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, waist circumference, hip circuit and calculated BMI (body weight to grow) and WHR (waist circumference to the hip circuit). People from the age of 60 proven their cognitive functions (using the mini-COG scale, which allows you to decide to deepen diagnostics in the direction of dementia). During the summary visit, “global cardiovascular risk” will be assessed. The patient will receive an analysis of laboratory test results and survey results, as well as an individual health plan (IPZ). It will include: information on risk factors that have been identified during the balance, general recommendations regarding a healthy lifestyle, diet and physical activity and preventive examinations. The patient will also get an individual calendar of recommended vaccinations and a list of recommended pro -health interventions, e.g. educational advice.
Educational advice, depending on the needs, will be able to be given by a doctor, nurse, midwife, prevention, dietitian.
People aged 20 to 49 will be able to do research as part of the new balance “My Health” not more than once every 5 years, and people over 49 years old no more than every 3 years.
The health balance will be available after at least 12 months from the last study as part of the “Prevention 40 plus” program (ends on April 30) and from the last study performed as part of the prevention of cardiovascular diseases (Chuk).
How much will the health department spend?
“My health” is expected to cost around PLN 336.5 million in 2025, and in another PLN 434.5 million. The Ministry of Health in response to the comments of the Ministry of Finance announced that these costs were not taken into account when developing the NFZ financial plan for 2025. He pointed out that he received from the NFZ to assure that the financial effects in 2026 and the following years would be included at the stage of work on the NFZ financial plan at 2026.
The balance of adults “My health” has, among others improve the early detection of cardiovascular and diabetes diseases, kidney disease, thyroid disorders, selected oncological diseases, selected infectious diseases (HCV – hepatitis C), mental and cognitive disorders. The goal is also to increase the percentage of vaccinated people (recommended vaccinations).
People who receive a referral for “40 plus prevention” until April 30 will be able to carry out them until May 31.
Cardiovascular diseases, malignant neoplasms, nervous system diseases (including dementia), depression are priority diseases for public health. Cardiovascular diseases in Poland are the most important cause of mortality – in 2023 they responsible for nearly 37 percent. deaths. The second cause of death (in 2023 – 24 %) are malignant tumors. In turn, the occurrence of dementia depends on age. In people between 60 and 65, it affects about 1 percent population, in a group after 85 years of age about 10-35 percent people show features of dementia.
It is estimated that about 1.2 million people suffer from depression in Poland. NFZ data indicate that in 2023, 809,000 received benefits with depression (main or concomitant). patients. They were most often given to people aged 65-74. (PAP)
