The Turkish president condemned the actions of the American and Israeli armed forces. He also announced that his country would make diplomatic efforts to conclude a ceasefire.

“We are on the side of peace, we want the blood to stop flowing, the tears to stop, and our region to finally achieve the long-awaited lasting peace,” Erdogan said. He also noted that if appropriate actions are not taken to restore peace in the region, “very serious consequences” are possible.

“No one can bear the economic and geopolitical uncertainty that such a process would cause. Therefore, this fire must be extinguished before it spreads further,” the Turkish president emphasized.

The US and Israeli attack on Iran began last Saturday morning. According to US Central Command, since then the US military has struck over 1,000 targets in Iran as part of Operation Epic Fury. On Sunday, information appeared about the death of the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Mutual attacks also continue on Monday. Donald Trump has already announced that further operations in Iran may last four weeks.
