FESTIVAL OF OPEN BOOKS – “Books come to life” between March 6 – 22, 2026 at the Comic Opera for Children

Opera Comică pentru Copii (OCC) announces the fourth edition of the Festival of Open Books, the most colorful event dedicated to reading and creativity in the Bucharest spring cultural calendar. For three consecutive weekends, between March 6 and 22, 2026, the OCC headquarters is transformed into a huge living library, where the book does not remain between the covers, but sings, dances and comes alive on stage.
This year's edition is part of the national campaign “Fitness for Children's Minds”, which brings together non-governmental organizations, publishers, bookstores and educational partners with the aim of promoting reading and critical thinking among children. The message of the campaign: just as sports strengthens the body, reading is the best training for imagination, empathy and courage.
