July 28 will be the Day of Remembrance of those tortured and killed in captivity: the Verkhovna Rada supported Yulia's initiative Tymoshenko, MFO and wives of “Azov”As the leader of “Batkivshchyna” reported, she was approached by the wives of “Azov” fighters with a request to honor the dead and tortured on Memorial Day. Together with the participants of the IFO for the protection of the rights of veterans, participants in hostilities and their families, she was able to achieve the inclusion of the relevant resolution on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada and its adoption in the session hall.
Tymoshenko thanked the participants of the MFI for the preparation and promotion of this important decision.
Thanks to the adoption of Resolution No. 10188, July 28 was officially established as the Day of Commemoration of Defenders of Ukraine, participants of voluntary formations, as well as civilians who were executed, tortured or died in captivity. This date was chosen in memory of the defenders of “Azovstal” who died in Olenivka.
