Suspended today, watching the match from the box, Bogdan Andone (51 years old), the coach of FC Argeș, commented the victory with Dinamo, 1-0and its follow-up, the team's qualification for the play-offs.
FC Argeș needed a victory in the last two stages, against Dinamo or Unirea Slobozia, to qualify for the play-offs. This success came in the penultimate round, in Bucharest, and the people from Pitesti were able to uncork the champagne even before the end of the regular season.
How did Bogdan Andone, the coach who brought FC Argeș back to the first league and qualified for the play-offs in the first season after returning to the elite, commented?
Bogdan Andone, after the qualification of FC Argeș in the play-off: “I'm glad that we don't stay with emotions until the last stage”
“I want to congratulate the boys for their work this season and since my arrival in Pitesti. I told them before: they are boys with extraordinary character. This is the most important thing about the team: the way of working, the discipline and the good atmosphere. I also want to thank the boys in the staff, who managed the last two games very well, but also for the work done together.
Regarding the match, in the first half they had one or two good situations, one with Karamoko's shot, but I think we stayed well in the field. We put pressure, we didn't let them play, make their possession game; they are the team with the best dynamics, mobility, they have players with technical quality. I knew this very well, but the boys played the game well.
Of course, it was a big stake for us and I'm glad we managed to win so we don't sit with emotions until the last stage. Dinamo didn't create scoring chances, but anything can happen from a small mistake or bad luck, so we were waiting for the game to end as quickly as possible.
I felt a sense of relief when the final whistle blew. And joy, of course. The Lord Mayor was also upstairs; I thank him in this way for being with us all the time. I thank the supporters who came in such large numbers with the team. Only together we could succeed. I'm glad that we managed to make them happy, to be proud of the team and what we have achieved in this year and a half”, commented Andone to PrimaSport.
Bogdan Andone: “In the play-off let's be the “small log””
Asked what the objective will be in the play-offs, Andone replied:
“We will try… to say now that we will beat everyone is difficult. They are very good teams, they all have quality. We are, so to speak, or we can be “the little log”; an awkward team that will try to pull something out every game. I want and we will want to get as many points as possible, whether we play at home or away.”
