Can Inter wash away their humiliating Champions League exit?

Inter have registered three wins and two losses in their last five matches. Chivu's men have suffered two consecutive Champions League defeats against Bodo/Glimt – 1-3 in Norway and 1-2 in Milan in midweek – but are maintaining excellent form in Serie A with three straight wins: against Lecce (2-0), Juventus (3-2) and Sassuolo (5-0).

Next, the star Lautaro Martínez is injured, and the attack will be led by Marcus Thuram, and the second peak will be chosen between Pio Esposito and Bonny.

Genoa, for their part, are showing inconsistent form with two wins, one draw and two defeats. The Genoa side beat Torino 3-0, drew with Cremonese (0-0) and lost to Napoli (2-3) and Lazio (2-3). The streak also includes a 3-2 win against Bologna.

Genoa will rely on Lorenzo Colombo, who will have to take responsibility in the visitors' attack. The young Italian striker will try to break down Inter's solid defense and bring points to his team in this difficult away trip.

The last duel between the two teams took place on December 14, 2025, in Serie A, when Inter won 2-1 away. Previously, on February 22, 2025, Inter won 1-0 against “Giuseppe Meazza”. On 17 August 2024, the two teams drew 2-2 in Genoa. The match will be led by referee Mikael Fabri.
