In Uyar, the risk of fires has increased sharply due to improper disposal of ash (video)

A fire hazard remains in Uyar due to improper handling of ash and slag waste, reports the registry.ional operator “ROSTtech”.
Local residents throw hot ash directly into containers, and the waste disposal operator, in turn, sounds the alarm – violation of the rules for storing ash residues leads to fires on sites and in the compartments of garbage trucks.
“If ash and slag waste is generated in a household, it is necessary to follow the rules for storing it: cool completely, collect it in a bag and leave it next to the tank. Upon shipment, the regional operator's crew will pick up this package. Containers in which hot ash is found in bulk cannot be shipped,” explain specialists from the regional operator ROSTtech.
According to company statistics, during one trip half of the tanks contain scattered ash residues. Sometimes ash is found at the very bottom of the tank already at the time of loading the waste, then an “ash cloud” forms above the vehicle and crew – its volatile particles enter the respiratory and visual organs and are spread throughout the area.
The position of the Ministry of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on this issue is clear – you cannot throw hot ash in bulk into containers.
“Let me remind you that it is prohibited to store burning, hot or hot waste in containers. Before disposal, the ash must be cooled for several days and poured into a tight bag – polyethylene, which will not melt, serves as an additional indicator that the waste has cooled down and will protect it from the spread of suspended substances in the environment,” wrote Vladimir Chasovitin, Minister of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, in his Telegram channel.
Last year in Uyar, under the “Circular Economy” project, 20 new waste disposal sites were built and 58 containers were installed, but some of them have already become unusable due to hot ash. When it gets into the back of a garbage truck, it quickly heats up the surrounding waste. So last week, a garbage truck from a regional operator caught fire in Solontsy. Fortunately, the driver managed to react and prevented the fire from spreading throughout the body.
