A well-known cafe in the center of Bucharest has closed, 12 years after its inauguration

One of the most visited addresses in the Old Center of the Capital, the Starbucks cafe at Hanu' lui Manuc has closed its doors, writes Profit.ro.

After this closure, the chain of Starbucks cafes has only one cafe left in the Old Center of Bucharest, the one on Strada Lipscani. Another one is added in the city center, in Piata Universităităi.

Contacted by Profit.ro, Starbucks representatives did not explain the reasons for the closure.

Manuc's Hanu' Starbucks was inaugurated in 2014.

The American coffee chain entered the Romanian market in 2007, currently reaching a network of over 50 locations nationwide.

Amrest Coffee SRL, the company that operates the chain of local Starbucks coffee shops, recorded in 2024, the last year for which there are public financial data, a turnover of 201 million lei (40.5 million euros), 1% lower than in 2023. The company's profit collapsed, falling by 90%, from 12 million lei in 2023 to 1.2 million lei in 2024, he also writes Profit.ro.
