Quentin Griffiths, the co-founder of the online fashion store Asos, died after falling from the floor of a block of flats in the Thai resort of Pattaya, writes The Guardian newspaper.

A police spokesman told the BBC that officers were called on February 9 after a man was found dead after falling from the 18th floor of a block of flats in Pattaya, on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand.

Griffiths, a 58-year-old British national, was alone at the time, the coroner said, and an autopsy found no evidence of murder. Also, no signs of a break-in were found.

The retail entrepreneur co-founded Asos in London in 2000 with Nick Robertson. It has grown to become one of the world's largest online fashion retailers, with designs worn by Rihanna and Michelle Obama.

Griffiths left the company in 2005.

Thai police told the BBC that Griffiths had been involved in two legal proceedings, which could have caused him to be under stress.
