A 31-year-old woman died, Thursday evening, after falling from the 10th floor of a block of flats in Sector 5. Before the incident, she was on the windowsill of a terrace and showed agitated behavior. The police are trying to determine what happened.

“On February 19, 2026, at around 5:50 p.m., the policemen from the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest – Police Section 24 were alerted to the fact that a woman was on the windowsill of a terrace, at an address in Sector 5. Policemen from the subunit, ISU-BIF crews, as well as a crew of first aid”, announces, on Thursday evening, the Capital Police, writes News.
The cited source stated that it was found that the woman was exhibiting an agitated and uncooperative behavior.
At the same time, negotiators from the Special Actions Service were requested to manage the situation.
“We make it clear that the woman allegedly fell from the 10th floor of the building, falling on the terrace located on the 1st floor. The medical team present at the scene immediately provided specialist care, but, despite the efforts made, the death of the 31-year-old woman was declared”announced the Police.
The area was secured and delimited, and the investigations were taken over by the Homicide Service.
The investigations are being continued by the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Bucharest Court, together with the Homicide Service, in order to accurately establish the factual situation and the circumstances of the occurrence of the event.
The lifeless body was transported to the National Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.
