Mikhail Pichugin, who spent two months drifting on a boat in the Sea of Okhotsk, lost his body…

Mikhail Pichugin, who was adrift on a boat in the Sea of Okhotsk for two months with the bodies of his brother and nephew, had auditory and visual hallucinations. According to him, he heard the voices of loved ones and the sounds of boat engines.
At the same time, the man did not get lost in numbers; he counted the time spent on the open sea by the sun. Fishermen on the trawler “Angel” noticed him by accident – a spotlight fell on him while inspecting the area. Then the exhausted Mikhail thought that he had imagined it again, but he still raised his hand and somehow began to wave it. The men got him out and gave the victim first aid using experience.
Then they wrapped Mikhail in a blanket and began to fatten him with broth (in the photo he is in the cabin). Pichugin didn’t have much of an appetite; he ate a little at a time. After resting, I was hardly able to tell the details of the tragedy to my rescuers. According to him, at a distance of 60 km from the shore, the motor broke, then the oar, and then the anchor came unhooked, which is why he, his brother and nephew were carried away by the current.
