As part of the Safe Runet Week, which runs from February 10 to 22, Rostelecom specialists told students of the Physics and Mathematics Boarding School of the Siberian Federal University about the rules of behavior on the Internet.
The educational event was organized in Krasnoyarsk at the site of the corporate Museum of Communications under the auspices of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment.
“Teenagers spend significant time on the Internet, including playing online games, which makes them vulnerable to cyber risks. We decided to combine a traditional tour of the Communications Museum with an interactive on cyber hygiene in order to remind them in an accessible form about the importance of digital security,” said Andrey Kuznetsov, engineer of the technical infrastructure unit of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom, curator of the museum.
In particular, the thematic quiz included questions about phishing, malicious sites, two-factor authentication and brute force. By answering them, the guys demonstrated their knowledge in the field of protection against Internet scammers.
All participants received souvenirs from Rostelecom. Those who completed the tasks less successfully were rewarded with an additional gift – the book “A Beautiful, Dangerous, Cyber-Safe World” by Stanislav Makarov. This publication will help teenagers independently understand the tricks of cybercriminals and possible threats.
The company pays great attention to cyber education. For example, it regularly holds special offline events for schoolchildren and students. The Lyceum online educational platform provides free access to the cybersecurity section. For the older generation, the ABC of the Internet project is being implemented. All this helps people increase awareness and protect their data in the digital environment.
