17 February 11:22
Customs officers at the Krasnoyarsk airport found animal teeth on a foreigner flying to Harbin. Poliea tylene bag was found in a man’s sweater pocket during a random inspection in “green corridor”.
The passenger explained through an interpreter that he was bringing teeth to make jewelry and did not know about the rules for exporting such goods.
The examination showed: these are the fangs and incisors of a wolf that is subject to the CITES convention. To legally take them abroad, you need to submit a passenger customs declaration and obtain permits.
Two administrative cases were opened against the foreigner – for failure to declare goods and non-compliance with prohibitions and restrictions. He faces a fine and confiscation of goods.
