More than 3 million cubic meters of snow were removed by specialized railway equipment from stations and stages of the Krasnoyarsk Railway in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia and the Kemerovo Region during the period of active precipitation – from November to February.
This is 2 times more than for the same winter period of 2024-2025.
This season, snow removal started on the Krasnoyarsk Railway in early November. The highest level of snow cover was recorded in the Kemerovo region at Luzhba station. In January 2026 it was almost 3 meters.
The most snow-covered routes on the Krasnoyarsk Railway were two sections: Biskamzha – Mezhdurechensk in the Kuznetsk Alatau mountains and Kuragino – Krol in the Eastern Sayan. In February 2026, the height of the snow cover in the direction from Biskamzha to Mezhdurechensk reached 2 m 30 cm, which exceeds the climatic norm by 1.3 times.
This winter, Krasnoyarsk railway workers deployed specialized equipment twice as often to quickly remove sediment, ensuring uninterrupted and safe train movement in any weather.
More than 70 snow removal machines and trains were involved in the work.
