From Sunday, February 15, you can submit tax returns for 2025. According to a survey conducted by SW Research on behalf of PITax, nearly half of respondents intend to submit their annual settlement in February.

“As many as 56 percent of respondents admit that they are afraid of making a mistake when completing the annual statement. The reason for this state of affairs is, among others, growing confusion with the regulations – 38 percent of respondents admitted that they do not know whether the settlement rules have changed, which is an increase of 6 percentage points compared to last year. Among the problems with settling PIT, 24 percent of respondents indicated difficulties in understanding tax reliefs, and every fifth respondent indicated complicated, difficult to understand regulations,” we read in press release about the study.

The survey shows that 51 percent half of respondents prefer to check available reliefs themselves rather than trust the government system. 41 percent respondents prefer to seek support in this matter from independent tax advisors or free settlement programs.

“One of the reasons may be ignorance of available reliefs, which was declared by 33 percent of respondents. On the other hand, as many as 88 percent of Poles surveyed would like to learn more about reliefs that would help them reduce their tax. This is an increase of 5 percentage points compared to 2025,” we read in the press release.
